How Thermal Imaging Works

A specialized lens is integrated into a camera that focuses infrared light emitted by objects in your view. The focused infrared light is scanned by a phased collection of infrared detection elements which create a temperature pattern called a thermogram.

The thermogram is subsequently transformed into electric impulses which are sent through a circuit board with a specialized chip. This circuit board translates the information and displays it onto a screen so you can see different color temperatures of the world around you.

The NightRide thermal imaging works off of a 5.0" Android phone with the NightRide app that’s preinstalled. This Android device can be mounted as a heads-up display or onto your windshield. It also comes with a 12V screen charger.

Detection Range

The maximum heat detection range of the NightRide application is 1800ft. The identification range is 600ft.
