Battery life and Charging Options

The lithium ion battery lasts between 2 to 3 hours and is easily charged. Simply locate the rubber plug that covers the micro USB input that is found on the left side of the device and plug into a USB plug or portable power supply.

Image Storage

Due to the small size of the images that the camera takes, you can store over 20,000 images! Transferring these images is an uncomplicated process. Simply plug the included USB cord into your PC’s USB port and drag & drop the images you want to save.

Image Overlay

Because the resolution is so high you might not even need to use this image overlay feature, but it still needs to be mentioned because it is noteworthy by all means.

The Image Overlay feature makes it easy to comprehend the infrared images by aligning visible images and infrared images. This feature allows you to capture the visible image of every infrared image to properly display temperature distribution of the target. We did find out that the visual image and thermal image don't quite match which is visible on our test shot below.

Emissivity Control

Emissivity is the measurement of an object’s ability to emit infrared energy, this emitted energy indicates the temperature of an object.

Coarse objects give off the most emissivity, so the HTi HT-A2’s default setting is set to that of a coarse object. It’s important to select the correct emissivity setting to ensure proper temperature measurement.

The HTi HT-A2 features four object measurement modes for you to pick from:

  • Coarse object (0.95)
  • Semi-matte object (0.85)
  • Semi-shiny object (0.60)
  • Shiny object (0.30)

  • This realative expensive thermal camera HT-A2 (as well as the HT-A1) is not FW upgradeable at home. So you never will get any bugfix for it – to me that’s an absolute no-go these days!
